Tenasa
天浅
Tenasa’s udon-suki is made with thick udon simmered in the hot pot from the start. Enjoy it with seafood, chicken, vegetables and a gently seasoned broth, or finish with rice porridge.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The udon goes into the udon-suki hot pot from the beginning and simmers along with the other ingredients. At Tenasa, this makes for a different experience from hot pots where udon is added at the end. Diners report that the thick noodles retain their springiness as they cook, with a satisfyingly chewy texture. Starting them in the pot also lets them soak up the savoury flavour of the seafood.
The gently seasoned broth is paired with seafood such as cod and clams, chicken, and vegetables including Chinese cabbage and spring onions. It is a hot pot to take your time over at dinner, as the flavours of the ingredients gradually mingle with the broth. One diner also wrote about squeezing lemon into the broth. Enjoy the broth and ingredients as they are first, then try changing up the flavour partway through.
Rice porridge is another option to finish the meal. After enjoying the udon, it offers a way to savour the broth enriched by the ingredients to the last spoonful. Dinner is served from 17:00 to 22:00, and the restaurant is closed on Thursdays. Reservations are accepted.
